1. Do I need a day use permit to get into Yosemite?

No, the park is not requiring permits this year. This may bring more visitors and we highly suggest getting early starts to your day to avoid wait time at the entrance gate.

2. May I use the parilla and wood fired pizza oven without hiring a pizza guide?

Due to county regulations, during the months of high fire risk (June-November), you will need to hire one of our professionals to manage and maintain fires in both the parilla and wood fired oven. December through May, please inquire.


3. Are campfires allowed?

Mariposa County restricts the use of campfires during high fire season and are not allowed. Please inquire to learn more.


4. Where is the closest market and gas station?

The closest market is the El Portal Market as well as a gas station. This market is more like a convenience store with basic necessities. We highly recommend stocking up prior to arrival or hire our personal shopper to shop, deliver and stock for you.


5. Will someone greet me upon arrival for check in?

No, we have a self check in procedure. There is a lockbox at the front door with a code that is emailed prior to your reservation.


6. How long does it take to get to Yosemite Valley?

The Moonstone is located just 10 miles from the Arch Rock Entrance, the closest entrance to Yosemite Valley. From the entrance, it's about a 10 minute drive to the entrance of Yosemite Valley.
